CYNTHIA DORN, Actress

Cynthia Dorn earned her B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in vocal music at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and has performed as an artist for over 20 years. Cynthia works extensively on stage, radio, television, and film. Credits include: For the Love of Zachary, Tall, Dark and Deadly, and a recurring role as Sally Field's maid Marthareen in the mini-series A Woman of Independent Means. She also played the medical examiner on Walker, Texas Ranger and Principal Leonard on the PBS series Wishbone.

cd1On the big screen, Cynthia was Esther in The Rookie (Dennis Quaid), and a Preliminary Judge in Miss Congeniality (Sandra Bullock). Her latest movie, Screen Door Jesus, will be premiering in the Fall of 2005.

 Her voice can be heard on many commercials and PSAs. Cynthia’s voice over clients include J.C. Penney, KXAS-TV. American Airlines, Mary Kay Cosmetics, McDonalds, The Fannie Mae Foundation, The Women’s Suffrage Museum in New York, and Thanksgiving Square in Dallas. She is the voice of Independent Lens, the popular PBS series for independent films, documentaries, dramas and short stories with, host Edie Falco.

Although her first love is theater, Cynthia also does training films for many corporations and government agencies. She is a founding member of the performing arts ensemble New Arts Six and is the organization's resident actress.
